Marin Headlands Beach Picnic/BBQ
Our June gathering we'll be going to the Marin Headlands. This is a National Park part of Golden Gate National Recreational Area or GGNRA in NPS speak.
We'll be meeting up at Rodeo Lagoon for our picnic/BBQ at 11:00 am.
To get there from the South and from SF and maybe East Bay:
Cross the Golden Gate bridge going North, take the Alexander exit to Sausalito. But instead of driving to Sausalito turn left at the first turn off the exit (pointing to San Francisco) you will then go under the bridge and start driving toward the South bound entrance to the GG bridge. Stay to the right and enter the Marin Headlands via Conzelman Rd. This is a nice twisty little road. Veer right onto McCullough Rd. Follow McCullough to Bunker Hill Rd. and turn left. Continue on to Rodeo Lagoon. Look for the 2002s.
From the North:
Take Highway 101 South to San Francisco. As you approach the Golden Gate bridge get over to the far right. Right before the bridge entrance there is an exit for Marin Headlands and Sausalito. Get off 101 and continue South to the Marin Headlands entrance. Turn onto Conzelman Rd. This is a nice twisty little road. Veer right onto McCullough Rd. Follow McCullough to Bunker Hill Rd. and turn left. Continue on to Rodeo Lagoon. Look for the 2002s.
From the East Bay alt:
Cross the Richmond/San Rafael bridge going North. Get onto Highway 101 heading South to San Francisco.
Info on the park. We are allowed to have small Webber-like grills so if anyone has one bring it along. We cannot have open fires but we can have grills that can be covered. There are very few park provided grills and they aren't that great in the first place. Bring the food and drink that you want to have. You can work something out with people bringing grills for cooking.
This is a National Park so there is no alcohol is permitted.
For more information on the park and for maps go to: http://www.nps.gov/goga/home.htm
Hope to see you there!

It will be a sort of mini show where people can park their cars, show them off and talk about upgrades, modifications or great driving stories.
Lake Merced is a beautiful location with picnic tables and grass for the kids to play on. You can show up from 9:30 to 10am. Look for the 2002s. Get a map and directions here. (Note, Click on the "Get Directions to this location" button that is above and to the right of the map)

It's the 4th annual "Not the 49 mile scenic drive" rallye. This is a gimmick rallye. No it ain't no pitch or one joke wonder. It's a rallye that requires you to follow clues and answer questions that relate to the scenery and places you drive past. After the drive we have lunch with fabulous prizes for the winners. The drive takes place within San Francisco city limits. We had fun the last 3 years and it should be just as whacky this time.
Meeting Place:
The Ocean Beach parking lot on the Great Hwy. across the street from the Beach Chalet. We meet at 10 am.
