August
August 11
This is our 9th year anniversary!

Day: Saturday, August 11th
Place: Marx Meadow (or nearby) in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco
Time: 10am until things wind down

It all started as a gathering in a parking lot in the Marina Green in San Francisco.

This year we’ll be meeting in or near Marx Meadow in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. (Note: Marx Meadow isn’t available for reservations, so it is a first-come-first-served situation.) JP will be on hand around 9:00 a.m., so you are welcome to show up early and help secure a good spot. Bagels and coffee will be provided.

This year’s event will feature fun in the park. Parking will be along the road next to where we’re hanging out. Just like last year, there will be plenty of parking and time to talk cars. But you can also just hang out and have fun, as there’s a lot of room to run around. So if you have frisbees, footballs, and the like, bring them along.

We can’t guarantee the great weather we had last year, but we can guarantee a great time. This is a great family event, so bring the kids!

Things to bring:
  • Yourself
  • Your 02, if you have one
  • Something to sit on
  • A jacket or something warm; it is summer in San Francisco, after all!

October
October 13 Peninsula Hill & Dale drive
Day: Saturday, October 13
Place: Meet near Bucks of Woodside Restaurant
Time: Meet at 9, leave at 10

We'll start our drive in Woodside and end in Pescadero for lunch. The drive will be approximately 2 hrs.

Directions:
From North or South
Take I-280 to Woodside.
Woodside is approximately 32 miles south of San Francisco and 24 miles north of San Jose. It is also about 9 miles south of the Hwy 92/I-280 interchange for those coming from the East Bay.

Exit I-280 at the Woodside exit.
Take Woodside Road, also called Hwy 84, West - away from the bay.

After one mile, you will come to the intersection of Woodside Road and Canada Road.

We'll meet in the parking lot on the right hand side of the road just after the intersection. Look for Buck's of Woodside restaurant. We'll try to stake out parking in front, but may be behind the building to have more room. If so, we'll post signs.

December
December 8 Not the 49 mile scenic drive
It's the 10th annual "Not the 49 mile scenic drive" rallye. This is a gimmick rallye. No it ain't no pitch or one joke wonder. It's a rallye that requires you to follow clues and answer questions that relate to the scenery and places you drive past. After the drive we have lunch. The drive takes place within San Francisco city limits. We had fun the last 8 years and it should be just as whacky this time.

Read the article by JP about last year's event.

Meeting Place:
The Ocean Beach parking lot on the Great Hwy. across the street from the Beach Chalet. We meet at 10 am.
